In Waldorf Steiner curriculum in the class years, every class will begin their day with main lesson. At St Paul's this runs for the first two hours of the day with the class teacher and is a deep dive into a subject block on a curriculum theme for the year. These blocks will be studied for 3-4 weeks and is a chance for a class to fully immerse in a theme. These blocks range from fairy tales and fables in the younger classes through to astrology and ancient history in middle school. Throughout the year, children create their own main lesson books as a way to synthesise and present their work.
