Dear St Paul's Waldorf School Community, 

With the summer holidays laid out before us, we reflect not only on this academic year but also on finishing a three-year cycle with a positive inspection report. This report will be released in September, where we will then begin another cycle to plan for the next three years ahead. 

We are saying goodbye to our wonderful Class VIII students who we have seen grow throughout their time at St Paul's, and we are incredibly proud of the pupils that they are today. It was particularly special to see their chosen topics demonstrated through their class projects and to see them triumph in their production of Alls Well That Ends Well. We wish them all the best for this next chapter in their new school settings. 

There are also some more closing of chapters within our staff body. Ms McCormick, who has been with us for 16 years, will be leaving for her well-earned retirement. Not only has she really supported her colleagues, parents and the children at St Paul's, but she has also developed our literacy support programmes and WRAT testing, always bringing a calmness and steadiness to these times of assessment. 

Mrs Gudka is moving on to her next chapter too. With us for 10 years, this time round with her class, she has taken them since Class I, holding them with warmth and calmness, creating a solid foundation for the children to build on in the years to come, with Ms Freeman now taking on the class. 

We thank Ms Kinsey for having held Class V whilst Ms Wickramaratne was away, and she will now start a new journey with rising Class I. 

A big thank you to all the staff, for all the capacities that you hold. For a full year of love, care and dedication that I see on a daily basis, which is what makes the education here at St Paul's. 

To the pupils and children of St Paul's, you all presented so well during the inspection, and you deserve a long and wondrous summer holiday, after a full years of hard work. 

Thank you to parents for your support, in particular this term with all of our trips, and also the volunteering throughout the year, which creates this wonderful community we have. 

As school closes, the building comes to the forefront for the summer. Starting with the work days, where your help with these, is deeply valued, and we look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. 

Wishing you all a restful and rejuvenating summer and I look forward to seeing you all in September.

Reflections from Class V and VII on the Eurythmy Festival 

I loved being in the Eurythmy Festival as it was lovely to see the different dances. I also liked to see the similarities and differences between the different schools and classes. I really enjoyed the Eurythmy Festival. It was in a cute area, and it was nice eating lunch in the park. I found it interesting how other classes did Eurythmy, and how you could recognise some of the steps. Performing on a stage was a learning experience, and I learnt a lot.

The Eurythmy Festival was very fun. I enjoyed having our shared dressing room, and the venue was very nice. I really enjoyed performing, and the other acts were also quite impressive. However, though all the acts were full of talent, my favourite by far was Class 7's second performance. The mesmerising music matched perfectly with the enchanting movement of the scarves, and the performance was by far the best. What with the excellent performances and refreshing ice cream afterwards, the Eurythmy Fest was overall very fun!

When we got there the auditorium felt so big. It was so fun to dance in the park (for rehearsal). I really enjoyed watching other schools perform, and seeing people we saw at the Olympics. It was very cool to see the Firebird story because our woodwork teacher already told it to us, but in a very different way.

Islington Sustainability Network are organising their second Islington Sustainability Fair at the Assembly Hall again this year.

It'll be on the afternoon of 24 August, 2 to 5pm.

It'll be a drop-in community event, open to the general public and, once again, we'll have an emphasis on a range of innovative sustainability themes & initiatives. Expect stalls on energy advice & sustainability, repair & upcycling activities, crafts, food, giveaways & prizes!
